This probably deserves its own article, but anyone notice that the Red Sox came back to win against Cleveland after being down 3 games to 1... after enjoying a day off? The day off came between games 4 and 5 at Cleveland when normally they wouldn't have had a day off. But scheduling quirks gave them the rest and may have helped shift momentum back to the Sox. Days off allowed the Sox to beat the Yanks in '04 (rain out) and Detroit to beat the Yanks in '06 (rain out again). That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it.
Welcome to Dime Brothers' first Scrum of the Week article. A concept born in the leagues of the greatest fantasy sports players in the history of the game... and brought to you now after years of fine-tuning, decades of analysis, and centuries of blah blah blah.... It's just an article so American football fans of bad teams have something to look forward to and read.
In reference to the 2007 MLB playoffs: "We're headed for a Red Sox-Yankees Armageddon in 10 days. It's going to happen. Start stockpiling canned goods and beef jerky now."
I'm copying and pasting this messily. The important thing to notice is that this in-game box score of the Pirates vs. the Cardinals has one Pittsburgh pitcher named "N Available". I'm assuming the person entering the info didn't know the pitcher's name...

We saw some tennis action last night. It makes for a quick and easy article for this site!
I've resigned from fftoolbox.com. The fantasy football world will now come to a screeching halt.
Awhile ago it was Woods versus Federer. Now its Nadal's turn.
Me: A-Rod is having a great year.
Wife: Is he in a contract year?

Genius! I'm proud of how much she's learned about sports! Of course, he's only kind of in a contract year, since he can shop the open market OR stick with his current deal.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda, but never really had the chance.
This just in: Clemens makes another start in preparation to return to majors against Quadruple A Pittsburgh Pirates. (I can imagine that as a headline for the Sports Guy or Gallo.)
