The process to get into the foreign service is changing. This quote is stolen from the US Foreign Service website: "This process will be faster and more easily accessible. It will take a comprehensive view of a candidate's full range of practical experience and knowledge, leadership skills, and critical thinking abilities. To be available completely online, the first offering is scheduled for summer 2007." They used to offer written exams in the Spring. We are now taking bets that "Summer 2007" turns into "Spring 2008", since the testing revisions are in the hands of independent contractors. Of course, we hope that doesn't happen, but I have visions of I-95 construction....
